Kenneth Gunnarsson, Chairman of the the Swedish NGO Office for Nuclear Waste Review, MKG, held a presentation on the 7th of December at the International Nuclear Energy Agency, IAEA’s, workshop on stakeholder engagement in Las Vegas. The workshop is organised in collaboration with the Sandia National Laboratory. Gunnarsson discussed the organisation’s experiences of the Swedish consultation process for an environmental impact statement for a planned repository for spent nuclear fuel. He described the background to the project, presented the players in the process, as well as some key factors and events in the process.
